The Golden Lampstand was built to provide LIGHT to the HOLY PLACE. There was no other LIGHT in this place and it was the responsibility of the chosen people to keep it burning continually. The Lampstand branches, buds and blossoms stood for God's LIFE GIVING POWER, a foreshadowing, in the Old Testament of Jesus Christ the future Messiah. It gave forth light, and now: Jesus said "I AM the LIGHT of the WORLD" John 8:12

God told Moses, when he was on Mt Sinai, to make the lampstand from one piece of solid gold, weighing 75 pounds, along with all the details for it (found in Exodus 25:31 to 37:24) and the tabernacle for the journey in the wilderness after the miraculous escape from slavery in Egypt.

Now when we look to Revelation which was written by the Apostle John, to the seven churches of Asia Minor (Revelation 1:11), while in exile on the Island of Patmos 'because of the WORD OF GOD and the TESTIMONY OF JESUS (Revelation 1:9). John sees 'SEVEN COLDEN LAMPSTANDS' (Revelation 1:12), which he tells us represents the 'seven churches' (Revelation 1:20). 

Seven in the Bible is the number of COMPLETENESS AND PERFECTION.
